Therapies

An ancient Sufi story tells of the angels convening at the dawn of time to discuss where to bury the meaning of life, a secret so sacred that only the most worthy of initiates should be allowed to access it.

‘We should put it at the bottom of the ocean’, one exclaimed.

‘No, the highest mountain peak’ another argued.

Eventually the wisest angel speaks up. ‘There is one place no one will look. We can hide it in plain sight, in the centre of the human heart.’

As a practitioner and therapist my roles is to work alongside my clients by assisting them in discovering what is best for their own health, well-being and happiness. We all have our own unique and individual way of finding the answers as to what is our own personal truth. My intention is to support the person I am working with on that journey of self fulfilment. For me this is a priviliege which gives me a great sense of satisfaction and a feeling of peace and joy.

Yoga

Yoga seeks to help the individual to reach their full potential. This consists of a strong, flexible mind and body and connecting with inner wisdom and peace. The main components of yoga are made up of:

Postures - Working with the body to stretch and tone the entire muscular and skeletal system. The circulation is improved along with the overall functioning of the internal organs. Locked tension is released, rejuvenating the whole body.

Breathing Techniques - Full yoga breathing helps to recharge the body and calm the mind and nervous system. This leads to an overall understanding of vital energy.

Relaxation Techniques - Complete deep relaxation of the whole body and mind can relieve stress and many associated symptoms. Relaxation will also help promote health and well-being.

Focus/Meditation - helps to discipline the mind, promote positive thinking and self-awareness.

Anyone can practice and benefit from yoga. All you need is some time and space and a desire for a healthier, more fulfilling life. So much can be gained from regular practice and a little patience.
