Vedic Art
What is Vedic Art?
There is a creative force within each one of us and the potential for great opportunities in life. Vedic Art is a way of helping us to connect with this creative force through painting.
It was Curt Kallman, a Swedish artist, who studied the Veda (ancient sacred writings of Hinduism) and created a method of bringing Vedic Art to the West. His phrase ‘Both feet firmly on the ground and the paint brush in heaven’ aptly describes the Veda philosophy.
By means of seventeen principles we begin to remember how to express ourselves from within and delve deeper into the creative process. By working through the principles you are able to paint without demand or planning.
Once you are familiar with the creative process, you assume your own space and are not subject to outside influence. You begin to see things in a wider perspective; you venture to make bolder decisions with the result that you become more confident about yourself and your capabilities.
Vedic Art is accessible to anyone who is interested. You do not need any previous experience or artistic ability.
A few years ago I went to live in Sweden and was introduced to Vedic Art. In the Autumn of 2005 I attended an introductory Vedic Art course in Majorca. I was then invited to visit Sweden again in the summer of 2006 to study and train with Curt Kallman as a teacher of Vedic Art.
It is said that the ancient teachings of the Vedas point out that all knowledge exists within us, like a seed ‘knowing’ how to become a flower. When nature is allowed to flow everything is in perfect balance. To create is something natural and everyone is able to do it if they open themselves up to ‘remembering’ and be guided to the source within. Vedic Art is about direct experiences and the 17 principles are simply a tool to guide you.
I have found the skills and experiences I’ve developed over the years to be of great benefit to my own personal growth and well-being. I would like to take the opportunity to share some of my knowledge with anyone who is interested in participating in a Vedic Art course that I am facilitating this summer. You will find details for them on the back of this flyer.
